About a week ago Panic introduced its newest product: Status Board. It’s a widget-based app that displays different kinds of information on your iPad or on your TV.

Since there are already quite a few custom widgets out there I thought it would be nice if you could see your App Store downloads on there. We’re using App Annie and they’re offering a public API. Tim Brückmann implemented a script that creates a data source for a widget that displays the App Store sales.

Get a Message's URL to Refer to It Somewhere Else

I’ve always wanted to write a script to get a message’s link to refer to it easily from my notes in Evernote or basically anywhere else. Things does that when creating a todo directly from within Mail.app and adds the link to the todo’s notes.

As expected, such a script has already been written. By John Gruber, in this case. Works like a charm.

Unfortunately, it does not seem to work on iOS. Pasting such a URL into Safari’s address bar results in an “Cannot Open Page” alert.

Creating Tons of Tasks for Keeping Track of the Series You're Watching

Since I started watching “How I Met Your Mother” somewhen the last two weeks I was wondering how I should keep track of the episodes I’ve already seen. So I spent a few minutes googling. I assume there are some web services or apps that do that for you. But I neither wanted to sign up for another service nor did I want another app for that.

“Why not add all the episodes to Things?”, I thought. That would make perfect sense for me since Things is the application I’m using for all the tasks one can tick off. Yeah, I love making lists and ticking off things to see the progress I made.
