Ever since I heard Boris talk about something called Strobist on the German show Happy Shooting I wanted to try it out myself. It’s basically a method to take photos using untethered flashes. So I started reading David Hobby’s series of articles collected in the Lightning 101.

To get started, I got the Yongnuo RF-602 wireless flash trigger, a light stand, a swivel and an umbrella. I was not able to find the equipment suggested by David (back in 2006) in Germany so I got similar, inexpensive stuff.

Drea was happy to help and allowed publish a few of the photos taken. It’s pretty amazing what a difference this small set of new equipment makes. Should have tried this earlier. :)
